Please be advised that the water main on Oakland Park will be shut off on Wednesday, December 6 at 8 am to replace a broken 125 year old fire hydrant.
- Water may be shut off for up to 12 hours on Wednesday. Oakland Park residents should prepare to be without water all day.
- It is possible that shutting down the Oakland Park water main may cause pressure issues elsewhere in the City. We do not know if this will be the case, and we do not know where pressure drops may happen. With our aged water infrastructure, system-wide impacts are unpredictable.
- There will be a boil water notice in effect for Oakland Park residents until Oakland County WRC receives clean water sampling tests. This boil water notice could be in effect for up to 72 hours.
- WRC has hand delivered notices to all impacted Oakland Park addresses. The boil water notice is also available at this link.
- WRC will hand deliver notices to Oakland Park residents when the boil water notice is lifted.
We know this will be an inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to repair broken water infrastructure.
