IMPORTANT! If you see yellow police tape DO NOT cross it. There are power lines down and some power lines tangled in downed trees. DTE must be involved in clearing those.
July 5 Update: Davey crews were able to clear the trees blocking streets yesterday (July 4). They will be back on Monday, July 6 to start working on the rest of the downed City street and park trees.
Once we get the fallen trees cleaned up we will be evaluating all of the City trees to identify any further issues that need to be addressed.
LOOSE BRUSH pickup – we know there is a lot of loose brush around and are working on a plan with Davey to have a supplemental brush pickup ASAP. We are also working to define the limits of what their brush crews and equipment can handle based on what equipment Davey will have available to us. We will communicate those limits when we pin them down.
In the meantime, you can pile brush at the curb, but please – do not place loose brush in the street. Keep it in the tree lawn between the sidewalk and the street, or if it won’t fit there, on the lawn behind the sidewalk. We need to keep streets clear.
July 3 Information:
PR DPW has been out cleaning up streets to make them passable as best we can and taking inventory of City trees that need to be cleaned up. Streets will have first priority, downed park trees next.
A few streets will remain blocked until Davey can get here tomorrow (July 4) to handle the larger trees that are beyond our ability to clear.
Hanover is also blocked with a power line tangled in the tree. This will remain until DTE can clear it.
Damage appears to be limited to downed trees. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available. This will be a process.
